The Progressive mainstream media is at it again, with huge exaggerations and utterly fake news. When it comes to environmental issues, or subjects like climate change, the mainstream media members, who seem to be mostly from a politically “progressive” point of view, are regularly guilty of fake reporting, or exaggeration. Many of them are just outright liars.
Their interest, it would appear, is not to report on news, but to promote a so-called “progressive” agenda which has deep roots in socialism and communism. They will even go out of their way to make false comparisons and smear individuals (using the most blatant examples of the logical fallacy of ad hominem). Frequently, they project and just plain make shit up, at times. I’ve experienced it myself from progressive “journalists” on Twitter, when I’ve pointed out an error; the replies have sometimes have had nothing to do with my argument or point but instead, idiotic projection that can only come from levels of insane thinking.
The latest big lie from the media the past week is on their reporting of the fires in the Amazon Basin. There have been a number of totally false and misleading claims that the fires in the area are at a “record” or “never seen before” level, and great gnashing of teeth that the “lungs of the earth” are being destroyed.
First, I want to point out that I personally am saddened to learn of the destruction due to fire in the Amazon region. At the same time, there is this nonsensical idea that fires in this region are not natural, and this year, are causing some kind of destruction never seen before. Of course, right wing President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro is being blamed by idiots including the press and other politicians around the world, for the forest fires. Multiple ways of attempting to blame him and smear him are being carried out.
Now, to be very clear: I do NOT have “right wing” points of view, for the most part. Nor do I support or endorse Bolsonaro. I should not even have to state that, as my criticisms of the press and so-called “progressive” politicians have nothing to do with my viewpoints; my criticisms have everything to do with the falsehoods that are being published. Falsehoods are falsehoods, whether you support a point of view or not. Sadly, too many progressives, even some of my own acquaintances, excuse falsehoods when they are pushed by a progressive agenda. Falsehoods and conclusions drawn from the belief in falsehoods will never ever have a beneficial effect on the earth, on mankind, or nature in general.
In decades from now, you’ll just be seen for what you are: An ignorant liar or an ignorant person that supported lies. If you truly value the virtue of honesty, you’ll run from this and learn to do some research and even if it is not convenient to your viewpoint, you’ll hold liars accountable.
So Is This A Record Year For Amazon Fires?
Nowhere close to a “record!”
“Huh?” you might ask then interject…. “But all those videos on TV, and science blog articles on the internet!”
Yeah…. welcome to the world of telling lies to promote an agenda.
If you want the truth, let’s have a quick peak at what NASA says, according to their satellite data:
In the Amazon region, fires are rare for much of the year because wet weather prevents them from starting and spreading. However, in July and August, activity typically increases due to the arrival of the dry season. Many people use fire to maintain farmland and pastures or to clear land for other purposes. Typically, activity peaks in early September and mostly stops by November.
As of August 16, 2019, an analysis of NASA satellite data indicated that total fire activity across the Amazon basin this year has been close to the average in comparison to the past 15 years.

Yes, you read that correctly. “Close to the average in comparison to the past 15 years.”
Now go back to your progressive friends and progressive media outlets and tell them to start telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth and to stop pushing lies and falsehoods.
